Handcraft coffee in Newtown have been carrying Proud Mary beans for quite some time, to the point that Proud Mary developed a "Handcraft" blend specifically to their taste. And with former Proud's roaster Paul Lee returning to Sydney and working at Handcraft with the coffee he used to roast, the Newtown store has a surplus of barista talent. To take advantage of this, the guys are set to run fortnightly public cuppings to showcase future coffee offerings in store. This marked of first of these. With around ten different coffees on the table, standouts came from the Panama Bambito and also an Ecuadorian Gonzalo Eguiguren, a honey processed coffee which comes from a small farm at very high altitude (2050 metres) in Loja, Ecuador. To keep track of when the next cupping will be, give @handcraftcoffee a follow on Instagram.
